Intoxicating happiness filled her lungs until it was difficult to breathe without smiling. Crystals rained into her eyes, bringing sweet burning tears. Joy wasn’t a word any more, it was a sensation. Her skin tingled with the slow tickling of laughter, as a deep rumble started in her throat, only to explode out of her mouth in singing bubbles. It was the kind of moment you want to store in a vial to relive every now and then when the odds are not in your favour. It was like the stars had aligned in a crooked-toothed smile, infecting everyone with the sweet disease. And when people asked her, she said her head was in the clouds. Because truly, where else would it be?
