BETRAYAL

Jealousy poured into her heart,
Pumped into her blood
And spread through her body.
It felt vile, disgusting.
It gave pain, hurt and sadness.
Her hands shivered,
Her eyes were wet,
Her cheeks were pale with fear.
The pain shot through her body
And the stabbed the most tender spots
In her mind, her heart, her soul.
The tears flowed automatically
And she collapsed,
Clutching, grasping, gagging
In the scent of her own bitterness,
Hurting, consumed by a poison
Administered by her own heart.
